I need you, I need you...

The "cover song" is the new black it seems. It's always been a popular avenue for bands wishing to unleash their creativity (be it for good or bad) onto songs they've loved and lost it to.
There's the Klaxon's putting their own slightly perculiar take on JT's My Love as well as the cult 90's dance tune 'Not Over Yet' by Grace, the Arctic Monkey's version of Girls Alouds' Love Machine, plus numberous other covers by bands over the years that are doing the rounds.
It's not rocket science; take one classic tune, add a little bit of making it your own and try not to slaughter it in the process. (Hear that Klaxon's? Try not to slaughter 'My Love' in the process).
Anyhow, the first tune of this (I'll admit it, it's a somewhat dubious) classic by Stacey Q, comes courteousy of singer/ songwriter Brad Walsh. He's also a photographer-come-singer-come-writer-come-blogger-come-actuallyrathertalentedude.
The second is from the now (defunct?) Sydney group Rizzo & Pizzo. They were outlandish, outgoing, and daring. A bit like watching road kill unravel before your eyes, mesmerising, full of wonder & aghast all at the same time. (These are good things).
Download Brad Walsh's take on Stacey Q's 'Two of Hearts' here.
Download Rizzo & Pizzo's (R.I.P) version Stacey Q's 'Two of Hearts' here.
There was actually another 3 version kicking around the curbside, but I can't seem to find it in my hardrive right now. I'm lazy, so if I find it soon, it's all yours.
By the way - Stacey Q's rocking out Debbie Deb in her top Myspace friends. If you're not already with the program, you should step to it fast, cos there's some sweet as icy pole Debbie Deb tracks coming soon to a blog near you.

Tinberlake Idol
The Grammy's are on Sunday night is the US (tomorrow Aus time) and Justin Timberlake has been involved with a competition called 'My Grammy Moment' where contestants were able to submit a 60sec video from a selection of songs such as Aretha Franklin's 'Respect', Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' and Mariah Carey's 'Vision of Love'. The final 12 were voted on by singers, songwriters, producers and other industry VIPs and the winner narrowed down by viewer voting via interweb and text message. The final 3 came down to 3 girls - Africa Miranda, Brenda Radne and Robyn Troupe. They've been rehearsing with JT all week leading to the ceremony. Who will be the winner? We'll see when they take the stage to sing their duet. A major jump-off for super stardom? Or a chance to get yo thang down with JT?

Fo Shizzle Mah Nizzle. Fo Real.
Or something like that anyhow.
Snoop Dogg's here in Oz this week coming for a whistle stop promo tour and is playing a couple of dates. This particular tune is one of my favourites off the latest (and often quoted by Mishmillionaire) Justin Timberlake's latest album.
It's all about clocking that hot chick (or boy), powdering your nose and snapping some photos. The beats rock it, the programming is shit hot and the as usual Snoop's MC'ing is all over it.

Give it To Me

Nelly Furtado's backflip into hip chick has been amazing. And for the most part she should be thanking Timbaland. He's given that girl her booty back by leading her back to her roots.
Meanwhile on the JT tip, Iusedtodancewithmydaddy wasn't showing much love for Sexy Back when it first came out. But it grew on me. Just like a snake in a trouser grows. *boom tish*
Now it's time for Timbaland's first solo release and he's called in the big guns, with Nelly Furtado & JT both featuring as guests.

JT Appreciation #3
JT getting his sexy on at the opening of the the Victoria's Secret Show:
I like how Gisele Bundchen totally gives him the cold shoulder as she walks out.
The quality is unbelievably shite.. but they all were. The girls are amazing.
He also performs My Love / Lovestoned, but theres no models walking up the catwalk.. just booty-poppin and smouldering at the cameras backstage. They're all saying how hot JT is and how they are going to get with him after the show. Get fired up, Diaz.
