Amongst the piles of stories I keep hearing from Suebi about her trip to NYC.. one was about how there were 2 massive billboards in Times Square - One with a full-length Jay-Z and across the road was another with P Diddy with the question "Whos the King of New York?"
Apparently this caused some great debate.
Both have released a new album during the last quarter of the year. Diddy with Press Play and Jigga with Kingdom Come.
Its CEO vs CEO. A battle between artists/producer lineups - Press Play features the likes of Christina Aguilera, Timbaland, Jamie Foxx, Mary J Blige, Ciara, Cee-Lo, Nas and Brandy compared to Kingdom Come with Dr Dre, Kanyeezy, John Legend, Usher, Pharell and Beyonce.
Jay-Z - Kingdom Come
Title track. Jigga's rhymes are pretty smooth. You may notice the Rick James (bitch!) 'Superfreak' hook in there.. or some may better know as Hammer's 'U Cant Touch This'.
"I will be... King of New York
I will be... New York
Not only NYC I'm hip hop's savior
So after this flow you might owe me a favor"
P Diddy - We Gon' Make It
I think this is maybe the first time Diddy has rapped on his own record? Because maybe he should stop. Naww.. its not so bad in parts. The hook in this track.. trumpets sound familiar? Maybe.. umm.. from Jay-Z's Show Me What You Got? Hmmm?
"And the day I die, let a G4 fly
And dump my ashes over N.Y...
I'm the King of all Kings, I abide by no rules
and do what I do by any mean"
