Hey Boy!

The Teddybears are one of those typical music industry phenomenons. Plugging away at it for years (approximately 15 of them in fact), and then *BOOM* all of a sudden the hype building on them is everywhere. Or at the very least, it's all over the innaweb.

Their album - Soft Machine - which is essentially a re-working of an amalgamation of a load of their existing tunes, features guest vocalists abound such as Neneh Cherry, Iggy Pop, Mad Cobra, Elephant Man and Ebbot Lundberg (Soundtrack Of Our Lives) all making appearances.

The other shit you need to know?
  • They're Swedish, (which means) they deliver mad pop tunes bubbling over with a mixture of electronics, rock, and disco.
  • They're mates with Annie AND Robyn (in fact their mad tune Cobrastyle gets a spot on work out from Robyn below. Respect).
  • All their press shots feature the guys dressed as crazy ass rock n roll bears.
  • They've got a wikipedia entry ( I badly want my own wikipedia entry).
  • You can buy the album via their website, but in the meantime download this little gift here.

The Most Killingest Pop Star on the Planet!

For years, mainstream success as a pop star has eluded Robyn when it shouldn't have.

She's sassy, pint sized, blonde and dispenses wisdom - all the attributes a strong pop princess should hold. She's got massive street cred, right through from what she says & how she says it, to the covers she chooses to do (Prince's 'jack u off') and the production partners she works with (The Knife on 'Who's That Girl and Teddybears on her cover of their tune 'Cobrastyle' which she performs as 'Girliestyle').
On her best day Gwen Stefani *wishes* she was Robyn.
But she'll never come close.
Recently Discobelle posted new tune 'With Every Heartbeat' fresh from her new release; The Rakamonie E.P. 'With Every Heartbeat' doesn't appear on the EP (which is essentially a 'catch you up to now' EP rather than a new body of work), but the new song gives a strong indication of the direction of her new songs.

If you like pop music that's packed with a kick and a punch then I strongly suggest you check out the Robyn tunes shared with you below. Plus as a special treat, the video for "Be Mine" is included. Check it.

It's also worth mentioning that you should head over to her MySpace site to check out the mad self love she has for her haircut.

Random Fact: I had my hair like that once. Does that make me pop worthy or pop wannabe?
