Fuck off 2006!

My friend Aimee has had a rough year, so she's having a FUCK OFF 2006 party on NYE's! Ingenious imo. Hope 2007's far more rocking Aim's. ;-)

Anyhow, it's always around this period of the year that I'm reminded of the Christmas time pop culture in the UK - it far outweighs Australia's.

In the UK, Pop is COOL. It's got cred. Here in Oz it's rock's poor cousin. Which sucks, because I love pop. Good pop that is - and there is such a thing.

The MSTRKRFT remix of All Saint's Rock Steady is such a pop tune. The come back of all come backs. Lovely, sublime, vocals, kicking drums & basslines, and a few bleeps and odd bits thrown in for good measure. It's been around for a bit now, but if you've not checked it out, you should.
