If I haven't told you already, I got tickets to go see Boyz II Men in February at the Enmore! Odd choice? Maybe. And their support act is K-Ci & JoJo. "All my liiife.. I pray for someone like yoouu.." Hahah!
B2M released a new album in October (Japan release only) called 'The Remedy'. A 2-disc version will be released in the US in Febuary (on Valentines Day, I noticed - HA). I haven't had a proper listen to it yet, but will stick something up if it tugs at any heartstrings. Another thing I saw from the press shots, is that the bass dude, Michael McCary (Y'know, the pimpin one with the cane) has left the group.. apparently due to his scoliosis. So, no Tim, I wont be hearing the "Baby... I'm here for you" bit at the concert. Boo.
But lets go back.. waaaay back to 1991.. to their first album Cooleyhighharmony, produced by Michael Bivins (of Bell Biv DeVoe) and introduced to me in my pre-teens by my older brother.
Boyz II Men - Motown Philly
If we played that word association game and you said "Boyz II Men", I'd say "Mowtown Philly". Not that soppy "II" album stuff with "End of the Road", "Water Runs Dry", "On Bended Knee".. etc etc.
Its jackin, its swingin, its harmonies.. it makes you wanna dance like Hammer.
